First round of playoffs for the Senior Boys Basketball team takes place today at 3:30 pm in our Eastview gym versus Banting. Come cheer on your Wildcat team and watch as they claw their way back to the top!

The Eastview Junior Boys Basketball team travelled to Orillia for their final league game of the season last night.  The nighthawks kept Eastview on their toes at half as the wildcats found themselves ahead by only one basket.   But the boys were able to dig deep and found their groove in the second half, winning by a score of 66-40.    Darius Kent found his grove as well on both ends of the court with strength and determination.  Matt Higgs was the TSN turning point for the wildcats with his mad dog defense and drives to the basket.   Good effort boys.
The boys are back at it again tonight at 3:30 at the barrie City Championships.  Come cheer on your wildcats!!

This past weekend the Senior Boys Basketball team participated in the Cities Tournament at Barrie North Collegiate. The boys battled in their first game Thursday night versus St. Pete’s. It was a well-fought game going back and forth until the mid-fourth quarter when a mini-spurt by St. Pete’s made the difference, with Eastview losing 57 to 64.
The boys took the loss in stride and used it as fuel to come back strong on Friday and Saturday. With two starters missing, and 1 just coming back off a 2-month medical leave, the boys had to adjust their positioning and play to each other’s strength versus JOA. With Nathen Tucker subbing in as Point-Guard, making plays and feeding the ball, Joan Colominas lit up the scoreboard with 24 points. Strong offensive rebounding and scoring by Daniel Kauffman, Kareem Greene-Blake, Victor Oyebolu and Adriano Silfa-Zambri (hitting his 3’s), led to a final score of 75-53 for Eastview.
Saturday’s afternoon game brought on a match between Eastview and Bear Creek. Having lost to Bear Creek in regular league play, the boys were prepared to redeem themselves. With the ‘twin tower tandem’ of Daniel Kauffman (scoring 36 points) and Nathen Tucker (scoring 17 points), the boys walked away with their second win of the weekend with a score of 70-52.
Next game is action is this Wednesday when the boys travel to OSS to take on the undefeated Nighthawks. Practices at 3 pm will resume this Monday and Tuesday.
