Friday January 11th

Chess! Hey all you chess playing nuts! Tournament today! Yes today. Meet at room 156 at 2:45. Be there or be square. Remember to wear your team shirt!

Please listen to a quick message from Chartwells.
Tuesday next week is customer appreciation day and someone in your school will win a FREE large pizza but you must follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to be eligible to win. Today is our Pacific Rim special. Thank you and we appreciate your business.

Congratulations to the junior girls volleyball team who ran their league record to a perfect 6 and Oh with back to back road victories over Nantyr Shores and Innisdale this week.  The ladies will be defending their City Championships title next Wednesday, right here at Eastview.  The action will get underway at 3:30.  Come on out to cheer on the team.

The senior girls volleyball team played 2 league games this week.  Tuesday at Nantyr and Thursday at Innisdale.  The team won both matches 3 straight and remains undefeated! Congratulations!

Yesterday the Eastview Girls Hockey team defeated North 7 – 1. Goal scorers were Gracyn Emmerton with 3, with singles going to Reagan McCluskey, Shannon Prouty, Kennedy Lynch and Jenna Mowat. Goalie Hunter Northcott got the win. Great job on defence by Audrey Busby, Abi Fee and Abbi Fenik.
The team will host Innisdale next Wednesday here at Eastview with first place on the line. Well done Wildcats!

The Senior Boys Basketball team played their first home league game of the new year versus Nantyr Shores on Wednesday. While the boys were able to hold Nantyr point for point and end the half in the lead (29-27), some unfortunate turnovers and limited subs allowed for Nantyr to take the lead in the fourth and end the game with a score of 77-51. Daniel Kauffman led the scoring with 16 points, followed by Brady Swain and Luke Hastings with 10 each.
The boys also travelled to the HoopDome tournament in Toronto yesterday. With the entire team in attendance, the all day tournament allowed for lots of playing time, extra practice and team building. The boys played three games. They won with a score of 60-30 versus Cardinal Carter, lost by one basket with a score of 52-52 versus North Toronto and battled William Lyon Mackenzie (outscoring them in the 2nd & 3rd) to come out with an unfortunate 72-57 loss. It was a great day and you made your coaches proud with how well you represented Eastview once again!
Next action will be the Cities Tournament taking place at Barrie North (at the end of the month) where we look forward to having a completely healed & recovered team roster.

Yesterday the alpine ski team toughed it out through some very cold conditions at Hidden Valley in Huntsville. Competing in a slalom competition there were some thrills and spills but overall the team did very well.
Congratulations to the level one girls for taking the top 3 of 4 spots and for winning as a team. Abby MacFarlane, Sydney Elliot and Ava Koslowski (Kos-lav-ski) led the way and were supported by strong finishes by Yuna Sheppard and Maddy Branden.
The level 2 girls also won their division. Congratulations to Emily Gwin, Julianna Vasques-Mayes, Mya Bodenmann and Jordan Craig.
On the boys side the teams are going through a development phase and improvements have been noticed. Reid Monteith and Jonathan Vasquez-Mayes led the way with very strong performances.
Thanks to Jonathan and Emily for their leadership during warm up.

Finally, a huge congrats to our amazing WOW girls, who put 6 in the top 20 in Novice, while Gillian Evans raced to 28th out of 60 in Junior. Way to go Jessica Brady, Macy Macmenemy, Leah Waterfield, Hannah Trombley, Mikenna Adair, Hilary Roye!

The junior boys basketball team had a strong game against Nantyr shores last night, downing the tritons by a score of 56-25.   It was a collective effort by the wildcats both offensively and defensively.   Darius Kent and Gibby Grigoriadis played their best game of the season.  Top scorers were Liam Alexander, Cal McArthur and Graham Galloway.   Well done fellas!
Practice tonight after school boys!
