A reminder to all Wildcats that today is Fruit Friday!  Check out the details of today’s Scavenger Hunt and Gotcha activities in your SCDSB email.  Remember that eating well helps reduce the risk of physical health. problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. It also helps with sleeping patterns, energy levels & your general health

Did you miss getting your picture taken on Picture Day?  Do you want to have your picture re-taken?  If so, check your school email for a link to book your appointment.  Picture re-takes will be held on November 23 in room 108.

Are you in grade 9 or 10 and need help with math?  Eastview can help!  Starting on November 23 extra help will be offered to grade 9 and 10 students three times a week every other week during lunch.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are designated for grade 9 math students.  During the lunch hour you can get assistance on specific topics like integers.  On Wednesdays, grade 10s who would like support with math can get assistance on questions and assignments.  See your math teacher for a form to sign-up.  If you don’t have math this week, no worries.  There are extra forms in the office.  All completed forms can be given to Ms. Williamson in the main office.

Attention girls interested in trying out for junior girls volleyball.  We will be holding tryouts next week on Tuesday and Thursday in the front gym after school.  That’s junior girls volleyball tryouts Tuesday and Thursday in the front gym after school.  We will have a signup sheet in the gym at the start of the tryout on Tuesday. If you are unable to attend on Tuesday, please see Mr. Hand or Mr. Tizzard in the Math office.

Yesterday the Senior Boys Football team's season came to an end with the SCAA Final. The Wildcats were unable to match the intensity and playmaking of their semifinal victory over Barrie North and fell to this year's champs from Bear Creek. The coaches are proud of the entire team and wish all our graduating players well! Stay tuned for announcements regarding team awards and equipment return.

Attention boys interested in playing on the Sr. boys Basketball team this year. Tryouts will begin Monday at 3pm and Tuesday at 4:30pm.

Thursday, November 18

The non-competitive vocal ensemble meets at the start of lunch in room 204 today. New members are welcome.

Jr Boys Basketball will have their tryouts tonight in the back gym at 2:45.

Attention all Senior Football players - you are dismissed today at the end of period 1 (10:40). Be sure to eat and get dressed promptly as the bus will be leaving for our game at Bear Creek at 12 noon!

Dance team practice today at lunch in room 158. See you there!

Senior Boys Basketball update: tryouts will begin next week. Today at 3pm - students who have their electronic permission forms submitted are permitted to come out. Meet in the front gym and remember your own mask and water bottle.

Last week your junior girls basketball team capped off their perfect season with a dominating win in the SCAA final.  After the game, we found out that it was also the AAA GBSSA final, double champions!  The girls were undefeated at 8 wins and no losses for the season.  Thank you to all team members for a great season! It was awesome to be back in the gym and your positive attitudes and energy were what made the season such a success. Stay tuned for details about our season wrap up meeting and pictures etc. Great job ladies!!

All students interested in the EcoTeam please meet in room 244 at the start of lunch today.  New members from all grades are always welcome!  We have been approached to provide feedback to the City of Barrie on their Greenhouse Gas Reduction plan and are working on our response.

Attention all students interested in joining the Nordic Ski team this year. We will have our first meeting in the Science room 248 today at the beginning of lunch. It will only take five minutes. If you can't make it, then please touch base with Ms. Roth in the Science office sometime this week. All students are welcome.  If you want to try out the sport but don't have the equipment, please come to the meeting! The more the merrier.

Words can’t express the enormous respect owed to the Sr. Boys Volleyball Team for the way they played last night at St. Pete’s, in the GBSSA championship game. Congratulations on your crazy hard work, your positive attitudes on and off the court, for bringing it harder than ever. Although st. Pete’s took the game 3-1, it was a tightly fought match and could have gone either way. It was a win in our hearts, you know it boys.  Congrats to our graduating members of the team: Ryan Vriezema, Graeme Galloway, Liam Alexander, Carter Bolton and Jack Rowsell. Will miss you boys next year.

Just a reminder to Senior Boys attending open gym basketball today at 3pm, your electronic parent permission forms must be completed in order to attend. Please remember to bring your own reusable water bottle and your mask. Any questions, please see Ms. Stam in Resource.

It’s Wellness Wednesday. This is a reminder that physical movement and exercise can help improve both your physical and mental health. So why don’t you get moving today and join us for a Stress Busters session at lunch. Everyone is welcome to come and spend part of your lunch learning a new way to cope with stress. Eat first and then join us at 11:00am in Room 158 (the dance room). See you there!

This is a slightly belated congratulations announcement for the senior girls basketball team on a great season. Despite a tough loss in the semi final, the girls finished with 7 wins and 2 losses and showed a lot of growth for a young team. A special congratulations to our only graduating player, Alexa Paemurd, on a great b-ball career at Eastview. She was a great player and leader for us over the last 4 years. Congrats Alexa, you'll be missed on the court for Eastview! Stay tuned tomorrow for a special junior girls b-ball announcement!

Eastview! Please wish members of the senior boys volleyball luck, when you see them in the halls today. They head to St. Pete’s for the GB championship game this afternoon. Go boys!

The Jr Boys Basketball Team will have their first tryout after school today, Tuesday at 2:45 in the back gym. If you are planning on trying out, you need to sign the tryout list outside of the library today or tomorrow morning. The team will have tryouts today and Thursday both at 2:45.

Girls' Hockey: The varsity girls' hockey team is reminded of their practice tonight at 3:30 at the arena.  Please see Coach Hargreaves or Coach Wilson if you are not able to attend.

Attention Hockey Players: This a reminder of the next intramural ice time which is scheduled for tomorrow Wed. Nov. 17 at 3:30 p.m.  Mr. Kucharski is asking everyone to bring their "A" game and is challenging all players who think that they can take the puck off of his stick to .......  "BRING IT ON"

Senior Girls Volleyball.  The senior girl's volleyball team will be having their first tryout, this afternoon from 2:45-4:15 in the front gym.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. Kalbfleisch.

Just a reminder that the video game club meets tomorrow from 2:30-4:30 in room 114!

Attention all Inquisitors. It’s Monday! The Inquisitor’s Club will be meeting today at 2:45 in room 181. New members are always welcome!

Congratulations to every member of the senior boys volleyball team. They are this years SCAA champions! With only one set lost all season, the boys played with strength and confidence, taking Barrie North 3 sets to none. Please wish the boys luck in their GB championship game tomorrow against St. Pete’s. Let’s go boys!

Hey Wildcats, I don't know about you, but our leadership team is tired of seeing garbage lying out around our school and we want to do something to change it! This is your reminder that we are having a school clean up on Monday, November 22nd. If you want to participate, ask your period 3 teachers to check their email and fill out the google form so your class can sign up and help clean our school!
