Eastview’s EDI Committee wants to hear your voice regarding equity, diversity and inclusion within our school. The QR code is posted all around the building with colour coded sections to guide you along. This anonymous survey can be completed at any time as an individual or a small group. All questions are optional so there is no pressure, meaning you can just submit a partial survey and come back to finish the missed areas later. This is a great way to share your ideas so we can continue making Eastview welcoming and inclusive for all.
Today we have Lakehead University joining us virtually in the Guidance Department at 11:00.
Cross Country: The Eastview Wildcats competed yesterday at the GBSSA championships in Duntroon, and had a fabulous day! Our novice girls team destroyed the other schools, again finishing first. Eastview overall girls team finished 3rd out of the 24 competing schools. An excellent way to finish the season, and the coaches thank you for all of your hard work over the last 6 weeks. A reminder to return jerseys to coach Bilton next week.

Yesterday was a double header victory for Eastview's football teams as both the Senior and Junior WIldcats repelled the Invaders from Innisdale. The Senior team triumped 21-7 behind the strong running of Zander and passing by Quarterback Lucas . Timely interceptions from Brett and Tyrone helped the defense shut out the Invaders until late in the game.
The Junior Wildcats then defeated the Invaders 36-15. Jake, Jaiden, Parker and Jaylyn scored touchdowns while Alex made several big tackles on special teams. Way to go Wildcats!
The non-competitive vocal ensemble meets today at lunch. A few spots have opened up, so anyone is welcome to come by who thinks they may enjoy singing some well known songs with other great people. We meet in room 204 during the first half of lunch on Thursdays.
Junior boys soccer practice will be held in the first portable on the right at 2:45pm if it is raining this afternoon. Several important things to go over before or playoff game.
Both of our girls basketball teams won in their final league games of the year. The srs finished the regular season at 4-1 and the jrs at a perfect 5-0. Great job overall, ladies. Let’s keep the momentum going into playoffs in the next few weeks!

The Eastview Senior Boys Football Team is dismissed at 11:40 a.m. today to prepare for their game this afternoon vs Innisdale. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.
The Junior Boys Football Team is dismissed at 1:45 p.m. in preparation for their game against Innisdale, which will begin immediately after the conclusion of the Senior Game. Players should get dressed and head out to the sidelines so they are ready to start their warm-up as soon as the first game is over.

Boys Hockey: Attention all players interested in playing hockey this year. Google forms must be completed and try out fees must be paid before you will be able to access the arena this Wed. Oct 20 for the first team try out. Players are reminded that there is a 2 hour ice time starting at 3pm. this Wednesday. Players will be split into 2 groups with Gr. 10's and Gr. 12's taking the first hour and Gr. 9's and Gr. 11's taking the second hour. Please ensure that you are on the ice with your appropriate group. The outdoor locker room will be available for equipment storage during the day. The door will be open at 7:45 to drop off your equipment and closed just prior to the first bell. Please see Mr. Wilson and Mr. Beer with questions. All boys intending to be on the ice for tomorrow's try outs are required to attend a mandatory meeting today at the start of lunch time in Rm. 217. Repeat this is a mandatory meeting.

The cross country team competed in their third and final league race this past Thursday, and some stellar performances were had. The novice girls again placed first, and won the top novice girl team in overall standings for the season. The girls success was led by Nari Hwang, who won the race, and strong performances by Katie, Claudia, Madeline, Brooke and Trinity. Christian and Ethan also made significant gains in their week over week performances. Please wish the team members well as they head off the the GBSSA championship races tomorrow at Duntroon Highlands! A reminder to the athletes that the bus will leave at 8 a.m. sharp from front of the school.

Please also complete the 2 Google Forms and pay for the try-out fee through School Cash On Line, which is now available for players and parents to access. Parents should have now received an email notification to complete that step of the sign up process. Last Friday the Eastview Junior Football team played its first home game of the season, and a supportive home crowd saw the WIldcats defeat the Collingwood Owls 30-13. Jake led the way with 3 TDs and Jaiden added another while Noal , Lucas and Ace added converts. Max, Carson, Riley and Graydon anchored the stout WIldcat defence. Next game is this Wednesday when we host the Innisdale Invaders.
Both junior and senior football teams practice today after school.
On Friday, our Junior girls’ football team faced Nantyr Shores. Shoutouts to Bianca and Addi for helping us run the ball. Also, incredible interceptions by Amaya, Katie, and Shania! Also, credit to Bella for scoring a touchdown as well as Tinuke for breaking all of the girls’ ankles and scoring a touchdown. All of our teamwork paid off and helped us beat Nantyr 12-0!!
It’s Monday, Eastview!! That means it’s time for Inquisitor’s Club! The Inquisitor’s Club will be meeting today at 2:45 in room 181. See ya there!
