Hey Wildcats! Are you hoping to attend Lakehead University as a full-time student in the 2020-2021 school year?  Do you model good citizenship in our school and community and have minimum average of 85%?  If this sounds like you, please come to  Guidance following this announcement for an amazing Scholarship opportunity.

Yesterday the alpine ski team was on the slopes at Osler Bluff Ski Club competing at the GB Championships. After some spills and thrills , the Level 1 girls team managed to defend their GB title against two strong Collingwood teams. The girls will be competing at the OFSAA Championship in two weeks. Congratulations and good luck Sydney, Abby, Yuna, Ava and Teagan. The race yesterday marked the end of the season for the rest of the team. Jordan narrowly missed a trip to OFSAA as the only Eastview skier on the level 2 course.

The coaches would like to say goodbye to graduating skier Reid who has been with the team for 4 years. Racing against as many as 100 other skiers, Reid consistently posted top ten finishes over that time in a very competitive division. Best wishes to you Reid in your post secondary pursuits!

The coaches would also like to say goodbye to Jaime who not only represented Eastview at races but also his home country of Spain. We hope you enjoyed your racing experience with us!

Video games club is running after school on today from 2:40 - 4:30.  Be sure to come by room 112 to de-stress and have some fun before the weekend!  See you there.

Congratulations goes out to our Sr. Boys Basketball team who took on OSS during the first round of playoffs this week and won the game to advance with a score of 83-64. The entire team contributed to the win through strong defence (against a highly skilled 3-point shooting team), assists, fast-break steals, rebounds, strong drives to the net, and enthusiastic cheering from the bench. The energy in the gym was infectious and encouraged Nate, Wes, Brady and Jayden to all put up huge points in the double digits and secure the win for us. Next playoff game will take place this Tuesday at 3pm (at Eastview) against Bear Creek. Go Cats!

Attention Boys Hockey team players.  There has been an upset in the play off standings so instead of travelling to Collingwood, we will be hosting another home game next week, this time against Innisdale.  The game is tentatively being set for Wed. Feb. 19 at 3 pm.  Players, please advise either Mr. Beer or Mr. Wilson if you have an issues with that ice time.

Attention to the boys and girls curling teams.  Boys are to meet at the Stroud curling club on Tuesday ready to play at 8:30 a.m.
The girls will be playing their playoff game on Wednesday at the Barrie Curling Club.  Please be there no later than 3 p.m. ready to play. Good luck to both teams in these sudden death playoff games.  Please see Ms. Kelly with any questions.

Congratulations Callum on being a plus three and getting two apples in yesterdays game- they couldn't have done it without you. Good luck with the rest of the playoffs team,

Despite the delayed start, Eastview came out early with a goal by Colby 12 seconds into the game.  Liam scored again before the end of the 1st period to make it 2 -0.  Despite a small push from Nantyr to bring the game even at 2, Eastview never swayed from their game plan and went on to score 4 unanswered goals to make the final score 6-2.  Additional goal scorers were Patrick with 2 and Brad and Mike with singles.  Parker provided stellar goaltending to secure the win.
