Hey Wildcats, Application packages for the semester 2, Global Perspectives Program at Innisdale are now available in Guidance.
See Guidance for more info.  Applications deadline is Friday,  February 21st.

Are you interested in making a difference?  Then why not bring your student voice to the SCDSB by becoming a Student Trustee?  Student Trustees bring student perspectives to public Board discussions, develop as student leaders, assist the SCDSB in identifying student issues and gather student opinion.  Elected students will serve from August 1, 2020 - July 2021, will receive a secondary school credit and be paid $2500.  
If you will be a Grade 11 or 12 student in the 2020-2021 school year and are interested in standing for election as a Student Trustee candidate, please contact Ms. Lapp in the main office for an application package.  Completed packages must be submitted to Ms. Lapp no later than this Friday, Feb. 7, 2020.

Video games club is running after school on today from 2:40 - 4:30.  Be sure to come by room 112 to de-stress and have some fun before the weekend!  See you there.

The Girls' Hockey team played their final regular season game yesterday against Banting. Despite having tired legs from the tournament the day before the girls played strongly and edged Banting by a score of 3-1. Goals were scored by Natalia and Avery with an empty netter being scored by Shannon. The girls finished first in regular season play and now wait to see who they will face in the first round of playoffs.

Congratulations to the senior girls volleyball team who defeated the Bradford Buccaneers in 3 straight games to cap their undefeated regular season.  The girls will begin the defense of their GBSSA title on Tuesday when they take on Collingwood in the quarter final round of the SCAA Championships.  The girls would love to see many of their supporters cheering them on to victory!  See you next Tuesday.

Congratulations to the Junior Girls Volleyball team for last night's 3 set win over Bradford.  This victory completes an undefeated regular season for the girls. Playoffs start next week when we host a quarter-final match on Thursday after school.  Go Wildcats!

There Is no cost to have your photo taken! If you are booking a retake please return your proofs to the photographer.

Congratulations to the senior girls volleyball team who defeated Bear Creek in 5 games last night to run their season record to a perfect 6 and Oh.  After dropping the first two sets of the match the girls stormed back to win the next three in thrilling fashion, breaking the hearts of the host Kodiacs.  The ladies will finish their regular season this afternoon with a 3:00 game right here at Eastview vs the Bradford Buccaneers.  Make a point of coming out to watch your first place senior girls team, see you there!

Yesterday the fur was flying as your Wildcat ski racers took to the slopes at Osler Bluff and charged out of the start hut, blasted around gates and blazed across the finish line. Highlights of the day included . . . Sydney finishing in top spot, leading the level one girls to a first place team finish. Reid finishing in 6th in a tough field of competition Julianna finishing in 7th in the level 2 division and the level one boys team finishing tied for 4th, their best finish of the season. Next week the team competes at the GB championship where Abby and her level one squad look to defend their GB titles. Good luck team!

The Girls' hockey team is excused today at 12:00 for their game against Banting.  Bus leaves at 12:45.

Yesterday, the boys hockey team completed their final league game taking on the Nantyr Shores Tritons.  The boys needed the first period to shake off the rust from the exam break and ended the first period down to Nantyr 2-0.  However, Eastview stormed back, starting in the 2nd period to overcome what became a 3-0 deficit to ultimately score 5 unanswered goals to make the final score 6-3.  Goal scorers were Zane, Colby with 2, Alex, Brayden and Patrick . Once again the team had solid goaltending from Dylan. Players, please stay tuned for announcements for playoff game dates and times.

Chess chess Chess, yes yes yes… Greetings all yee chess nuts.  There will be team and club play today after school at 2:45 to 4:30 in room 165. That's 2:45 in room 165 for chess. Everyone is welcome to come and play, learn and improve. Bring your brain. You will need it. See you there. Coach Young

There will be a Me to We Club Meeting today during period 3 and 4 in a new location, room 217.

The games club meets today, !!!  We meet in room 163 after school.  Pop and chips provided.  We play mostly board games of all kinds, cards and d&d.  That's games club, TOOODAYYY in room 163 after school.  See you there!

Hot Oatmeal will be available for students needing breakfast TODAY  between period 1&2 in the main foyer outside room 133.
If you need a nutritional “pick-me-up” stop by for a cup of apple cinnamon or maple oatmeal. Again, that’s TODAY from 9:15-9:20 between per 1 & 2, come by for some hot oatmeal in the main foyer. Different Breakfast options will be offered every Wednesday between per 1&2

Attention Concert Choir – A reminder that our first semester 2 rehearsal will be today after school.

Congratulations to the girls and boys curling teams who put forth an excellent effort in the games at Gore Regionals this past weekend. Curlers are reminded of their games today at the Barrie Curling Club.  Players are to make their way to the rink immediately following period 5. Please see Ms. Kelly if you require a ride.

Good morning students and staff, The Lunchtime Lift is back! Beginning next week, the Fitness Centre will be open during Period 3 for anyone who would like to workout during their lunch period. Stay tuned for more details or see Mr. Bushell if you have any questions.

Attention Boys Hockey Players, Players are reminded of our home game today versus Nantyr Shores.  Players are released from classes at 1 pm. in order to be ready for the 2 pm. game time at Eastview arena.

All Semester One music students are reminded to hand in their music and instruments.  Please hand them in as soon as possible.

A new semester, a new start, a new you.  Are you looking for a place to get some exercise and stretch out those aching muslces from sitting around in class all day?  The Fitness Room will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:45 to 3:30 to meet all your fitness goals.  Forms can be picked up in the math office from Mrs. McCarthy or afterschool in the Fitness Room.
