ATTENTION GRADUATING STUDENTS:
Applications are now available in Guidance for Valedictorian, Head Student, and the Eastview Award of Excellence. The deadline for submittal is April 10th.
The Head Student Award is presented to “a graduating student who has achieved excellent results academically and who has shown outstanding leadership and involvement at Eastview.’’ 

Attention Potential Graduates!  The Cap and Gown ordering process for Commencement is now underway.  If your name appears on the list in the showcase across from Guidance, then you are approved to order your Cap and Gown now.  You can place your orders on School Cash Online or come to the main office for an order form.  Thanks!

Attention Grade 12 Graduating Students: Are you looking for the perfect dress for Prom this year? Prom Glitz is an organization that helps students get a FREE prom dress! All of the dresses are current styles and many are brand new. Boutique days for this event are taking place on April 5th, 6th and 7th at the Kozlov Center on Bayfield Street. "Hey Eastview! Drama club is returning, TODAY, after school in the Drama Studio, in room 150! We'll be playing lots of fun improv games, from 2:45pm to 4:00pm. New and old members welcome! See you there!"

Video games club is running today and every Friday from 2:40 - 4:30!  Be sure to come by after school today to room 219 to de-stress and have some fun before the weekend! We can't wait to see you there!

Hey Wildcats, next week is Wellness Week.  Each day, you will be able to participate in various wellness activities, see guest speakers, participate in feel-good activities, and learn what you can do to support your personal well-being.  See the Student Government schedule on their bulletin board outside the elevator and check your email for lunchtime learning opportunities and guests to visit.  We are all worth the investment in the time to focus on our well-being. 

Hey Wildcats, Wednesday, April 10 is International Day of Pink.  It's a day when wearing pink means that we show we do not tolerate bullying of any kind. We can stand up and speak out about all forms of bullying and discrimination in our school, our community, and around the world.  Show your support by wearing pink...all sorts of pink...head to toe pink! Together, let's work together to end bullying.

Hey Wildcats!  This month's spirit day is fast approaching. Next Friday, on April 12th, be sure to wear your crazy socks to show your Eastview spirit. Post a photo on Instagram with the hashtag EssSpirit and tag @EastviewStudentGovernment for your chance to win a prize. Student Government will also be selling popcorn for $2 a bag during periods 3 and 4 on the day. That's next Friday, April 12th, wildcats, wear your crazy socks and buy some popcorn!

Hey Wildcats! On April 24th from 6-7:30 pm, Eastview is hosting a coffee house event that is different from our traditional Eastview coffee house! What makes this event different is that we’re inviting  schools across Simcoe County, including Barrie North, Bear creek, Innisdale to join us! If you’re interested in performing, come down to the office to sign up with your name and what you would perform! The contact number will be on the sign up sheet. We look forward to showcasing your talent to raise money for Women’s shelters in Barrie! All performers must sign up by Thursday April 18.

Hey wildcats, starting on Monday your student government will be hosting our first ever Eastview Games on behalf of Zach Makes Tracks to raise awareness about youth mental health. On Monday, we’ll be hosting an Emoji Game in the caf during period 4 so sign up with your friends at the wildcat lounge. More games throughout the week to follow. And don’t forget to stop by the wildcat lounge to choose which one of five teachers will get a pie in the face on Wednesday. The teacher with the most donations in their jar will be the unlucky winner. Donations raised for Zach Makes Tracks will go directly to the Slaight Family Centre for Youth in Transition at CAMH in Toronto, and to community based front line youth mental health services in each of our provinces and territories, including the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Attention Eastview Students:  Do you need volunteer hours? If so, Special Olympics is looking for student volunteers for its upcoming Provincial Basketball Qualifier on April 27th taking place at Eastview. They are in need of time keepers, scorekeepers, snack bar assistants, and team ambassadors. Team ambassadors support and assist the Special Olympics athletes during the competition. Ambassadors must stay for the entire day while other volunteer positions can be less time depending on your availability.  Contact Mr. Wilson in Guidance if you are interested.

Now for a Junior Boys Hockey Update:
The Wildcats travelled to Collingwood yesterday for the Vanier Tournament.  They faced off against St. Joseph’s in their first game and came up short by a score of 2-0.  In the second game the boy’s played Collingwood and fought hard for a 0-0 draw.  In their third game, the boys took on the host team Jean Vanier and lost a close game 2-1.  Overall the boys played well and worked hard.  Well Done Cats!

Attention all girls interested in playing Senior girls soccer.  This year is going to be jam packed with fun, excitement and competition.  You are going to want to be a part of it.  If you have any interest at all come out on Thursday after school at 2:45 to meet the coaches and players.  This is a great way to get involved Wildcats and get some exercise!  Come and speak to Ms. Cain or Ms. Mcintyre for more information.  Practices next week will be Tuesday at 4:30 and Thursday at 2:45.  See Thursday after school!

Attention Girls Rugby athletes.  This is a reminder of our practice schedule for the remainder of this week.  We are meeting today after school in the Fitness Centre at 3:30.  We will then move to he Georgian Field for 4:30.  On Thursday we have an indoor practice from 3 to 4:30 in the back gym.  Remember to never have jewelry on, always have your mouthguard and when outside have your cleats.

Track and Field practice tonight after school. Meet in the front gym. All runners should be prepared to go outside. Jumpers will be staying in.

Junior Boys Rugby are reminded of their practices this week:
Wednesday April 3rd,  3-4:30 at the Georgian College field
Thursday April 4th  4:30-6:00 in the Back Gym
All boys in grade 9 and 10 are invited to attend. No Experience is necessary.
Please note that players require mouth guards for outside practices.  Cleats are also recommended and dress according to weather conditions.

Senior girls' soccer tryouts start tonight at 4:30 in the Front Gym. Both Junior and Senior Girls' have their 2nd tryout Thurs at 3 in the Front Gym.

The Junior Boys Hockey Team needs to be ready to board the bus tomorrow for 7:00am as the bus leaves for the Collingwood tournament at 7:15am.  The Bus will be out front of the School.

Congratulations to all members of the senior badminton team who participated in the Barrie City Championships Friday night.  Special mention must go to our new mixed doubles team of Becky Gross and grade 10 call up Eric McFadden who earned a silver medal.  A reminder of our practice this after school today in the front gym with Coach Brian.
