The senior girls volleyball team represented GBSSA at OFFSA on Mon and Tues this week in Burlington.  They had a slow start Mon but then rebounded to a fantastic win versus the host school, Hayden, who was ranked 2nd at the start of the tournament.  Pool play continued Tuesday morning with a another victory.  The last pool play game Tuesday morning was for a 2nd place pool rank heading into playoffs.  Unfortunately, they came up just short, in a tough 3 set loss.  This put Eastview into the Consolation Quarter finals.  They fought hard but, lost to a school from Windsor.  Congratulations to the team on finishing first and second in 2 exhibition tournaments, an undefeated regular season and stream rolling through the playoffs to represent the GBSSA region well at OFSSA!

Yesterday the Eastview Girls Hockey hosted St Petes for the GBSSA Championship. The game was tied 1-1 after 3 periods, so now the game went into sudden victory overtime. Coach Carl instructed the team to shoot high and Alexa Pongo fresh off a 10 day hockey tour in Japan, listened intently to the coach. Her first shift out in overtime Alexa rifled a shot off the crossbar and into the net for the winning goal – wow! Goalie Faith Miller was amazing in net and the team played a great game. It was the girls hockey teams 7th GBSSA championship in 18 years. Now the team advances to OFSAA after the March Break in Midland. Way to go Wildcats!

Today there will be a meeting for anyone who played junior football this year. The Junior football meeting will be in portable 304 at 11:35 today. Please be prompt!
